David Sauter presented a plaque representing OACRAO's appreciation to Glenn Davis for his services as OACRAO President. President Glenn passed the gavel to Brad Myers.

President Brad challenged us with a presentation on "Energizing OACRAO." We are required to do more with less; must balance competing priorities. Brad is truly excited regarding his role as President and looks forward to the challenge and continuing the professional development of our professional association. He further challenged to broaden our membership scope to new participants: data managers, graduate students, special interest groups (e.g. Law Schools, Graduate Schools). Individually we should personally offer encouragement, nurturing, and mentoring.

Brad reviewed the top three priorities of the 21st Century Taskforce:

1) Develop opportunities to define the "big picture;"
2) Explore better ways to serve membership; and
3) Explore strategies on technical changes and development.

Brad to strengthen ties outside OACRAO with AACRAO, sister midwestern States (Joint Conference in Year 2000), and in areas of Important Issues.

Brad closed by reading the attached poem:

A final Certificate of Appreciation was given to Past-President, Dave Sauter, in appreciation of his years of service to OACRAO.

Respectfully submitted,

Janice E. (Walton) Williamson 1997 OACRAO Secretary

ANYWAY

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.

Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish or ulterior motives.

Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.

Be honest and frank anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.

Do good anyway.

The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds.

Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.

Fight for some underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.

Build anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.

Give the world the best you've got anyway.

We're all over committed, over achieving and over our heads - with not enough time.

TAKE TIME ANYWAY!
