Paul Taylor has worked in higher education for more than 30
years. He has worked as an Admissions Officer, Director of Financial
Aid, Career Counselor, Faculty Member, an Acting Registrar,
and as Assistant Director for Student Affairs. Since 1986 he
has served as Dean of Student Affairs at Lexington Community
College. As such, Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, Disability
Support Services, Orientation, Freshman Advising, Placement,
Retention, and Trio Programs report to him.
Paul has served on the Boards (and as President) of the Kentucky
Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers
(KACRAO), the Kentucky Association for the Promotion of College
Admissions, and the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars
and Admissions Officers (SACRAO). He has served the American
Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers
(AACRAO) as a member of the Nominations and Elections Committee
and on AACRAO’s Board of Directors as Vice President for
Admissions and Enrollment Management. He is currently President
of AACRAO.
Steven L. Johnson
Dr. Steven L. Johnson, who assumed the position of President
of Sinclair Community College, a Vanguard College & member
of the prestigious League for Innovation in Community Colleges,
on September 1, 2003, will deliver the closing address. Dr.
Johnson came to Sinclair in 2000 to serve as Provost and CEO
prior to being named President. He previously held the position
of Chief Executive Officer at the Clearwater Campus of St. Petersburg
Junior College in Florida. Prior to that he held positions at
Brookhaven College in Dallas, Garland County Community College
in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Hendrix College and the Arkansas Governors
School in Conway, Arkansas, Iowa State University, in Ames,
Iowa, and the University of Wisconsin at Superior.
Known as a dynamic presenter, Dr. Steven Johnson, 41, brings
a youthful enthusiasm to our Annual Meeting and 21 years of
Higher Education experience from two and four year colleges
& universities. With degrees and a background in Public
Relations and Marketing, as well as Educational Administration,
Dr. Johnson brings a unique perspective on subjects such as
Leadership, Acting as a Change Agent, and Current Trends/Challenges
in Higher Education.
